A security breach in your hosting and a hacker can access your files, post spam scripts and change your Adsense ad code to use their own account code and credit their account to your earnings.
It's not always easy to spot. A clumsy hacker will simply change the advertising code on most of your pages and wait for the jackpot. But when you see your site's revenues drop or even disappear, you can look at what's going on and find the reason... But if they're smarter, they'll change the code. a certain time of day and will deliver your code afterwards to go unnoticed, only reducing your income.
The Adsense Hacking Checker script is designed to automatically detect fraud. It will be launched from time to time, at different times of the day.
PHP version 4 or 5 must be installed on the local machine to run this script.
How A.H.C works
The program scans the contents of your website in FTP mode, so without executing the scripts present on the site, it loads text pages, identifies Adsense JavaScript code, extracts client code and provides a list of codes found at the end of the operation. Therefore, you will find any foreign code entered by the hacker.
The acheck.log file is created to specify details of operations, a list of pages found, and inserted codes.
Use of script
It is launched from the command line, i.e. in the "DOS" window located in the Accessories menu.
Type:
php acheck.php [options] -llogin -ppassword ftpaddress
Required arguments:
If these arguments are omitted from the command, the program will ask you for them.
-l followed by the FTP login.
-p followed by the ftp login password.
ftpaddress: ftp address on ftp.iqlevsha.ru form
Additional parameters
If these arguments are omitted, the default values will be used:
-v The verbose mode, with additional information displayed, defaults to no.
-q Quiet mode, default not.
-d followed by the directory name. Root directory on hosting, often "www."
-f followed by an ftp address if not in ftp.domain.tld.
-n Displays the number of occurrences on each page. By default, "" is displayed.
-s Displays subdirectories.
It is recommended that you create a batch file. This is a text file containing the and command with a BAT extension. It will be executed as a program.
What the script displays
First, your choices, then for each page on the site, the point or number of ads. When client code is found, a + is displayed, so you already know when a script finds one or more custom codes.
At the end of processing, the script displays the found Adsense codes.
What to do when a hack is detected?
Check all PHP scripts on your site to make sure they can't change or replace the contents of your pages. Change your FTP login password.
Restrictions
The script cannot take into account the pages generated by PHP scripts hosted on your hosting. You need to check which scripts are present on the site and whether they have been changed.
You can consider the worst-case scenario: that an employee of a hosting company, who therefore has access to all hosted sites, receives income at their expense. It may be useful to have a local image of the site that can be compared to content posted online.
