Setting up Live Writer for Drupal

Live Writer is part of the Windows Live package and allows you to edit blog posts or articles locally from a CMS-managed site.

To use it, it is necessary that the CMS supports the API recognized by Live Writer, namely Drupal.

  1. Go to Administer.
  2. Go to API Blog.
  3. The "
  4. Enable for external customer blogs:" form contains three check boxes: Book, Page, History.
Mark what you want to make available to Book Writer. All three are fine.
  5. This is all for Drupal.

Then you need to add a new blog to the Live Writer list. This is the Manage Blog option from the Blog menu.

  1. Enter the site URL and root, for example https://www.iqlevsha.ru/blog/1
Only with a domain name it does not work.
  2. You are asked to choose an API and a remote publishing script, choose: moveable.api
    и https://www.iqlevsha.ru/xmlrpc.php
(Site name instead of iqlevsha.ru .)
  3. Live Writer considers Book, Page and Story to be different blogs, choose Story if you don't have a preference .
  4. Enter the administrator name and password.
  5. Live Writer automatically connects and prompts you for a name for your blog. Give the site domain.
  6. This is all for Live Writer .

Now you can write tickets locally, regardless of whether you are connected to the Internet or not.
Problems remain with Drupal: The topic is not imported (not very important), and it is impossible to show the ticket directly from Live Writer.

If something doesn't work out, feel free to post a comment.
